NO NEEDLE INJECTION

NumBee is the Future of Painless Anesthesia Delivery

For the Patient

  • No Needles, No Injections – great for pediatric patients, patients with bleeding disorders and any patient who has a strong fear of needles.

  • Localized Anesthesia – numbness is confined to the tooth the dentist needs to work on, eliminating the need for infiltration or block injections.

  • Limited Soft Tissue Anesthesia – the discomfort of numbness in the lips, gums and cheeks with soft tissue anesthesia is a common complaint among all patients.  Using NumBee, most patients do not experience soft tissue anesthesia and the side effects that can be associated with this discomfort after the dental procedure is completed.

BPA FREE WHITE FILLINGS

In a time where we have recognized and moved beyond silver fillings due to their mercury content, white fillings are not without risk.  BPA is commonly used in most white (or composite) fillings.

In studies done approximately 10 years ago showed that BPA can be found in the saliva after 10 minutes of placing the filling. BPA has traces of artificial female hormone which is not recommended for children. Especially male children.

Our team is very aware of this issue.   We offer BPA free products.

Dino Kids Checkups

Please call or email to setup an appointment for a checkup. We will safely take x-rays and provide cleaning and assessment services. Our digital X-ray system provides the lowest radiation and instant images. Many adults think that since children's teeth fall out that it's not important to take care of them. This is simply not the case. Children's teeth can develop carries (cavities) and severe infections if not treated. This can be avoided by brushing regularly and coming in for regular checkups and preventative care. It's much easier and cheaper to take care of issues early rather than deal with a much more expensive and involved procedure later.

Safe and Sterile Instruments and Low radiation digital x-ray

We take the safety of our patients very seriously and take all the necessary steps to ensure a sterile and clean office environment according to California state and OSHA regulations.

  • All staff members wash their hands before every patient and wear gloves and other personal protective equipment.
  • Gloves and masks are always changed between patients.
  • Before you are called back for your appointment, all the equipment and surfaces, including the dental chair, are disinfected.
  • We sterilize our non-disposable equipment and instruments using an autoclave that is checked once per week according to regulations.
  • We dispose of items like needles and gauze in specially marked containers to ensure proper disposal.

Low radiation Digital X-ray

Our X-ray system is state of the art. Protect your child with low radiation and give us an immediate image.

Comfort dentistry: Nitrous, Oral Sedation, IV sedation, General Anesthesia

Dr. Estelle Hweiwan Liou is licensed to administer Nitrous, Oral Conscious Sedation ( 53rd licensed Oral Conscious sedation, Pediatric Dentist in California ). She works with anesthesiologists for IV sedation and General Anesthesia.

Conscious sedation is a management technique that uses medications to assist the child to cope with fear and anxiety and cooperate with dental treatment. The patient is able to respond to physical stimulation and verbal commands provided by the dentists and nurses to ensure dental treatment is carried out smoothly and successfully. Medications and dosages should be selected that are unlikely to cause loss of consciousness in the patient. Children who have a high level of anxiety or are very young and do not understand how to cope in a cooperative fashion for the delivery of dental care should be sedated. Conscious sedation is often helpful for some children who have special needs. Conscious sedations aids in allowing a child to cope better with dental treatment. This can help prevent injury to the child from patient movement and promote a better environment for providing dental care.

Advances in sedation drug therapy have enabled many pediatric healthcare providers to treat children and teenagers who would otherwise be too anxious and fearful. Many dental professionals who treat kids are now performing more invasive procedures, such as filling cavities or extracting teeth, in conjunction with conscious sedation. This is a type of sedation in which the child feels completely calm and relaxed but can still breathe normally on his or her own and respond to certain stimuli. General anesthesia by contrast is the total loss of consciousness, and is therefore not considered conscious sedation.

Conscious sedation can achieve a minimal, moderate, or even deep suppression of consciousness — after which the child will remember nothing about the procedure. Minimal conscious sedation is the most commonly used for the treatment of fear and anxiety with invasive dental procedures. It allows the child to retain the ability to breathe independently and respond appropriately and normally to physical tactile stimulation and verbal commands. Minimal (which can progress to moderate) conscious sedation is commonly achieved with medication taken by mouth (orally). Deep conscious sedation usually relies on the use of sedative medication delivered through a vein (intravenously). All of the above can be administered in an office setting by a dentist who is specially trained and qualified in dental sedation.
